Due to current circumstances, the Middle School Dance is being postponed to March 9, 2018. In return, all students who have pre-purchased a dance ticket will receive a full refund. To receive said refund students should go to the table where the tickets were previously sold at and give Student Council members their name and will then receive their refund.

We are also excited to announce that further admission to the dance will be free for all middle school students.

Thank you for your understanding and looking forward to seeing our classmates attend the dance, and all parent volunteers assisting.

Your student will have an opportunity to participate in a practice test to become familiar with the computer-based testing platform, item types, and response formats he or she will see on the FSA assessments. If you or your student would like to review the computer-based practice test at home, the practice tests and answer keys are available at

For information regarding test session lengths for all Spring 2018 FSA assessments, please visit the FSA Portal at, click on the Students and Families icon, select the Frequently Asked Questions card, then select the question: “How long are the tests?”

Please review the following policies with your student before testing:

§  Electronic Devices—Students are not permitted to have any electronic devices, including, but not limited to, cell phones, smartphones, and smartwatches, at any time during testing or during breaks (e.g., restroom), even if the devices are turned off or students do not use them. If your student is found with an electronic device, his or her test will be invalidated.   Students will be required to have headphones/earbuds with them for the ELA portion.  Kindly requesting to ensure they have these devices with them as they will not be able to take the test without them.

§ Calculators—For Grades 7 and 8 Mathematics, approved calculators may be used during Sessions 2 and 3 only. For EOC assessments, approved calculators may be used during Session 2 only. If students have handheld calculators during Session 1, their tests will be invalidated. Calculators are not permitted during Grades 3–6 Mathematics tests.

§ Testing Rules Acknowledgment—All FSA tests include a Testing Rules Acknowledgment that reads: “I understand the testing rules that were just read to me. If I do not follow these rules, my test score may be invalidated.” Prior to testing, test administrators read the rules to students, and students acknowledge that they understand the testing rules by signing below the statement on their planning sheets, worksheets, or work folders.

§  Discussing Test Content after Testing—The last portion of the testing rules read to students before they sign below the Testing Rules Acknowledgment states: “Because the content in all statewide assessments is secure, you may not discuss or reveal details about the test items or passages after the test. This includes any type of electronic communication, such as texting, emailing, or posting online, for example, on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, or Instagram.” Please make sure your student understands that “discussing” test content includes any kind of electronic communication, such as texting, emailing, or posting to blogs or social media websites, etc. While students may not share information about secure test content after testing, this policy is not intended to prevent students from discussing their testing experiences with their parents/families.

  • Working Independently—Students are responsible for doing their own work during the test and for protecting their answers from being seen by others. If students are caught cheating during testing, their tests will be invalidated. In addition, the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) employs Caveon Test Security to analyze student test results to detect unusually similar answer patterns. Student tests within a school that are found to have extremely similar answer patterns will be invalidated.
  • Leaving Campus—If a student leaves campus before completing a test session (for lunch, an appointment or illness, etc.), he or she will not be allowed to return to that test session.  Please remember not to schedule appointments on testing days.
  • Testing Accommodations—If your student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), a Section 504 plan, or is an English Language Learner (ELL), please be ensured that the accommodations will be provided for your child.   Testing dates for your child might slightly deviate from the above schedule.

If you have any questions related to this test administration, you may contact your homeroom teacher or administration.

For more information about the FSA program, please visit the FSA Portal at

Thank you for supporting your student and encouraging him or her to do his or her best during this test administration, sleep early the previous night, eat a healthy breakfast in the morning and be on time as to avoid any forms of stressing.  Please note that during testing dates, the school will remain on “lockout” and no guests will be allowed to enter the school until all students are finished.

PTO Meeting Tuesday, January 16 at 6pm

posted Jan 10, 2018, 8:22 AM by Donna Burns

We would like for you to attend out General Board Meeting

Tuesday, January 16
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Located in the gym

We are taking nominations for the New Board that will be taking place during the meeting. Please be on the lookout for the email on the steps and process for the nomination and running of the new PTO board for the 18/19 school year.

A Gently Used Uniform Sale will be held the same night as the General Meeting from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm and located in the gym.

We are asking for 3 volunteers per 1.5 hour shifts to assist in the sale. We do need at least 1 person who is a level 2 to be able to handle the transactions for the night. The sign up genius link is below. This is a great way to get your volunteers hours that are needed.

We are looking for just a few volunteers to help in shifts with our Uniform Sale the night of the General Board Meeting from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm while the PTO board attends a meeting from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Items will be placed on the tables in an organized manner rather than the racks due to storage and the sale will be held in the gym where the General Meeting will be. Please note that we need at least one person who is level 2 to handle the transactions for the sales during the shifts. Thank you for your support and help! PTO
